Description:
We are looking to recruit a confident, outgoing individual to join the programmes team and assist in delivering high quality programmes to schools and the public.  The role will include presenting educational programmes in the Space Theatre, training as a Flight Director in our Challenger Learning Centre, operating StarDome our portable planetarium, presenting outreach programmes, delivering workshops and assisting with day-to-day operations of the Space Centre.

The successful candidate will have a proven interest in astronomy and space science, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to many different audiences in a variety of settings.  Commitment to excellent standards of customer care is essential, whilst experience of presenting similar educational programmes in a formal or informal learning environment would be a distinct advantage.  A full driving licence is essential.

Starting salary ??14,000 per annum

Invited applicants will be asked to conduct two presentations:
1) A pre-scripted presentation that will be forwarded to selected applicants prior to their interview; 

2)  A 5 minute presentation on a space / astronomy topic, which you believe would be of interest to year 7 ??? 9 school aged children (aged 11-14).  The use of ???props??? is welcome, however AV or IT equipment should not be incorporated. 

National Space Centre education team members should not be approached for assistance with the presentations.
