[Job, Bristol] Meningitis UK vacancy, Marketing & Communications Officer, ??23k, clos 17 May

Not to be confused with a job from the Meningitis Research Foundation I’ve just posted – they’re based in Bristol as well.

This is not an overtly science communication job but pretty much any time a medical research charity communicates a fundraising message or engages with its supporters there’s a scientific / medical element so I wouldn’t discount it, particularly as there are web-based writing opportunities too. Some good transferable skills to ‘collect’, or add to, from a first or second job (one year’s relevant experience requested I think).

Meningitis UK
Marketing & Communications Officer
Full-time, permanent

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced communications professional with a “can-do” attitude and lots of initiative to promote Meningitis UK.

You will take the lead on communicating the charity’s key messages via its website, newsletter and through educational and promotional materials. A minimum of one year’s experience in a marketing/communications environment is required, together with the ability to juggle long-term aims with unexpected demands and opportunities. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for the third sector and charities.

Closing date for applications: Monday 17th May 2010
Interviews: w/c 24th May 2010

Please send completed application forms to Alison Thomas, Office Secretary via email alisonthomas //@// meningitisuk.org or via post

For an informal chat about either of the above roles, please contact Kate Rowland, Head of Development, on 0117 302 6197.
