This Media and Communications Officer role is in the Communications department (there’s also a marketing officer job but I assumed it wasn’t going to be as #scicomm like).

In the Research department there’s a Research and Development Manager post available too.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Media and Communications Officer. Working in our Communications team, you will play a key role in promoting Parkinson???s UK and its activities, through national, local and specialist health and social care media.

We are looking for a communications professional with a good working knowledge of the media and proven expertise of working in a busy PR and communications environment, including working with national and online media to build and maintain relevant contacts.

Skills, knowledge and experience

You will help us grow our media coverage across a range of policy issues and campaigning initiatives, working sensitively with case studies, as well as planning, delivering and evaluating proactive and reactive media activity.

The ability to write clear and concise copy for a range of audiences and media, including press releases, statements and articles, is essential, as is the ability to proof and edit copy.

We are looking for someone who can communicate clearly and assertively with a wide range of people, at all levels of an organisation, as well as work with colleagues to achieve communications objectives.
