I seem to have nearly missed this one – it closes on 6 June (I assume they mean the morning of Monday 7 June…) – it seems reasonably scicomm-ish to me; your mileage may vary of course, but I like to provide a range of options 😉
Since the breast cancer charities seem to generate jobs more quickly than the others I often check them first. There are three listed here, two in the AMRC section and one in the ‘other medical charities’ bit http://brodiesnotes.blogspot.com/2009/07/amrc-member-charities-websites.html

???12 month fixed term contract
???35 hours per week
???Based in London
???NJC Grade D, point 33
?????31,148 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting)
Breast Cancer Care is here for anyone affected by breast cancer. We bring people together, provide information and support, and campaign for improved standards of care. We use our understanding of people’s experience of breast cancer and our clinical expertise in everything we do.
The press team is an integral part of Breast Cancer Care’s fundraising activities, external campaigning and profiling work, and are also ambassadors of the brand ensuring consistency of messages to both internal and external audiences.
The Fundraising Press and PR officer will be responsible for creating and securing quality media coverage for Breast Cancer Care???s fundraising activities to help increase public awareness of the brand, to encourage participation in fundraising activities, and to support our many corporate partners.
Working with the media and within the news agenda means the team is always busy and sometimes has to accommodate rapid and major shifts in priority at very short notice. This is an exciting role that offers a high degree of job satisfaction to enthusiastic, skilled communicators, and therefore requires a proactive self-starter with the ability to spot, maximise and follow through media opportunities and solutions.
