The Ecologist has been setting the environmental agenda since 1970, initially as a magazine and now, following a successful relaunch online in 2009, as a website at: www.theecologist.org. The Ecologist produces a mixture of free and paid for content including  weekly and monthly email newsletters, a monthly pdf newsletter and a website.  

An Editor is required to lead a small but passionate and highly influential team though its next stage of growth and development.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent all round journalistic skills
  • Strong knowledge of the Ecologist???s subject matter
  • Experience of digital content delivery, content management systems, electronic newsletters, social media and SEO
  • Demonstrated  editorial leadership as an Editor or as an ambitious Dept/Section Editor looking for the next big move
  • Experience of writing, subbing and editing environmental content
  • Previously developed online editorial products
  • A passion for the digital world
