An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Public Relations Department for a dynamic Press Officer to promote the research, health breakthroughs, grant awards and broader successes of the Health Schools at King’s College London. The College is the largest centre for the education of healthcare professionals in Europe and host to six Medical Research Council Centres. It also forms part of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), a pioneering global collaboration with three of London’s most successful NHS Foundation Trusts.

The Press Officer (Health & Society) works to promote and maintain a positive, accurate and attractive profile of the College as one of the top 25 universities in the world and a leader in healthcare education.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Press Officer, who is an excellent communicator, with a passion for the health agenda. You will help to build and manage King’s reputation as a distinguished and innovative academic institution, by promoting our world-class research and service to society, to the media and other stakeholders.

You will be comfortable building relationships with our top scientists and our NHS partners, be able to prioritise news stories and work well under pressure. This role will support the College’s forthcoming fundraising campaign.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent with three years or more PR / communications experience. An ambitious self-starter, you will ideally have a higher education or science PR background and a broad range of media contacts.

The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience, within the Grade 6 scale, currently ??33,070 to ??39,038, per annum, inclusive of ??2,323 London Allowance, per annum. Benefits include an annual season ticket loan scheme and a final salary superannuation scheme.
