We’re looking for a first class communicator and politically aware Public Affairs Officer to help us make a difference in the fight against heart disease.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) has “done really good work that excites and enthuses people”.  These are just one of the great comments we’ve had from MPs.  The BHF is increasingly seen by the public and policymakers alike as a highly influential campaigning charity – directly affecting primary legislation on tobacco control through the Westminster Health Bill and snapping at the heels of ministers and the food industry on the issue of marketing of junk food advertising to children.

If hearing these achievements excites you and you have the experience required to be an excellent Public Affairs Officer then we’d like to you to join us in the year ahead. The post holder will support the work of the Policy and Advocacy team through developing and managing the BHF’s Westminster and Whitehall contact programme, helping to ensure that key decision-makers consider the BHF the expert on heart health issues and promote our public affairs work across the organisation.

You should have an interest in charity campaigning, a proven track record in public affairs with sound knowledge of parliamentary procedure. We’re looking for someone who pushes for the best at al times; seizes opportunities and has a flare for communicating effectively.

Please note this is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave for up to 15 months. Interviews will be held on Friday 10th September.
