As Executive Director for Research and Policy, you will lead the directorate in an exciting new phase of its development to advance knowledge about asthma and secure policy and practice changes to improve the lives of the 5.4 million people in the UK who have asthma, especially those who are in greatest need. As a member of our Executive Team, you will contribute to the charity???s overall strategy, priorities and working life. This will include making an active contribution to growing our capacity to make a difference for people with asthma and building on our reputation as a good employer. You will have a scientific degree, preferably to postgraduate level along with??a good understanding of the research environment, current health policy and the political environment. A visionary, strategic thinker, you will have experience of leading and managing a range of work disciplines, teams, projects and responsibilities and will possess a proven track record of initiating and delivering change in the not for profit sector and of influencing and developing partnership working with a range of external stakeholders. This role demands excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, an external focus and the ability to balance the needs of diverse groups to meet organisational objectives.
