This is a 9-12 month contract role.

This is an exciting role in the Science Communications team. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a suite of products about the charity`s research portfolio to meet the needs of priority fundraising customers.

About the job
In your role as Science Communications Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of inspiring information about Cancer Research UK???s portfolio to meet the bespoke needs of the charity???s fundraising teams. You will work particularly closely with our Marketing, Corporate Partnerships and MyProjects teams, capitalising on the charity???s major research projects and initiatives to help leverage more income and build deeper supporter relationships.

As well as shaping and driving the team???s strategy and activities to meet customer need, you will play a major role in ensuring that scientific information communicated externally is accurate and inspiring.

About you
To join us, you???ll need to be a confident, positive and solutions-focused individual with excellent project and time management skills. You will be an excellent writer and have a talent for translating complex science into plain English. And you will understand and have enthusiasm for the communication needs of successful fundraising and marketing activities.

A strong science background is essential, ideally to PhD level or equivalent. And a good knowledge of the cancer field is highly desirable with the enthusiasm to keep up to date with this ever-changing field and our research portfolio.

You will be a strategic thinker and work well under pressure. And you will be an excellent communicator with the ability to influence, inspire and motivate staff at all levels.
