There’s a goodly amount of science communication embedded within this post although I thought the phrasing used in the attached job description “Raising the profile and promoting public understanding of hearing research” and “Increase public understanding and support for hearing research” was a little unusual. Hopefully there’s a little bit more engagement than that 😉

RNID is the UK???s largest charity tackling hearing loss and making hearing matter. We are committed to accelerating the development of medical treatments to prevent hearing loss, restore hearing and silence tinnitus. We are doing this by funding world-class research projects, building research capacity by funding PhD studentships, and supporting translational research and working with industry to ensure research findings are developed into new treatments. You will join our Biomedical Research Group and lead our research grant programmes. Key responsibilities will include the evaluation of research proposals, monitoring of funded-projects and reporting on research outcomes. You will work closely with other departments to increase public understanding of and support for hearing research.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
You will need a science degree with excellent communication skills and a sound understanding of the medical research sector. But, above all, you must be able to demonstrate the drive and ability to make things happen.
