This is a great 9-12 month maternity cover role in our Research Strategy Team.

About the job
In your role as Senior Science Communications Officer, you will be responsible for seeking out and delivering inspiring information about the charity`s research portfolio to meet the bespoke needs of fundraising teams. You will work particularly closely with our Marketing, Corporate Partnerships and MyProjects teams, capitalising on the charity`s major research projects and initiatives to help leverage more income and build deeper supporter relationships.

As well as researching and translating science content for fundraising teams, you will help track their changing information needs and priorities, ensuring that our outputs and future strategy reflect these.

About you
To join us, you`ll need to be a confident, positive and solutions-focused individual with excellent motivational and interpersonal skills. A strong science background is essential, ideally to PhD level or equivalent. A good knowledge of the cancer field is desirable with the enthusiasm to keep up to date with this ever-changing field and our research portfolio. You will be an excellent all round communicator (verbal and written), with a proven track record in communicating complex science to a range of non-scientific audiences. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent time management skills. And you will understand and have enthusiasm for the communication needs of successful fundraising and marketing activities.
