Hours: 35 per week

Alzheimer’s Society is looking for an enthusiastic and driven press officer to join their award winning media team. The successful candidate will work in a busy press office, devising and executing media campaigns and managing day-to-day media relations for the leading dementia charity in the UK .

This will be a split-role. From May to October each year you will be working as part of the Memory Walk Team supporting flagship walks and marathons to ensure high-quality regional coverage that increases public participation. This will involve working with local services and sourcing case studies; building journalist relationships; working with celebrities and developing relationships with key regional newspapers and radio stations. For the rest of the year, you will support the wider press office function.

The applicant must have experience of working with the media, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to plan and the desire to work in a fast paced team committed to making a difference. Experience of working for a charity and on fundraising campaigns would also be of benefit.
