DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION: Public Engagement and Learning Directorate, RBG Kew
This is an exciting new role that will work across the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to support and facilitate improvements in the co-ordination of stakeholder interaction. At Kew there are many legitimate contact points with stakeholders including individuals or groups with an interest in Kew???s affairs and this role will proactively seek, collate and internally share information about key stakeholder interactions.
The Chalmers review highlighted the lack of co-ordination of Public Affairs as a key weakness for RBG, Kew, and as an integral part of the Communications Strategy, the appointment of this post will help to address that gap. Reporting into the Director of Public Engagement and Learning this role will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the communications strategy intended to establish Kew as a recognised global centre of excellence in plant and fungal diversity, conservation and sustainable use.
With a proven ability to initiate effective cross departmental working, you will work closely with appropriate roles and departments across Kew to effectively map and monitor key political and business stakeholder relationships, and agree planned activity to support joined-up management of those relationships. With excellent written and oral communication skills you will also monitor information sources to identify, prioritise and manage policy responses and produce internal statements on key political issues which impact on the mission of RBG Kew.
With regards to education and experience you will have a degree, or equivalent, in a related subject, a
long with developing professional experience in the field of policy, corporate and media research and reporting.
