Press and Communications Officer

The Royal Academy of Engineering spearheads the development of engineering in the UK and champions the highest achievers in the field, across the private, academic and public sectors. Its portfolio of activities is diverse and includes events, education, policy and public affairs, international activities, engineering research, public engagement and working towards the development of a modern and diverse engineering workforce for the future.

Working in the Communications and Engagement team, you will play a key role in promoting the work and people of The Royal Academy of Engineering. You will:

  • gain effective publicity for the Academy and its activities;

  • promote and raise awareness of the role of engineering;

  • communicate proactively and reactively with the media;

  • contribute to promoting events and public engagement activities.

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and creative Press and Communications Officer to support the Academy???s Communications Manager.

You will be highly organised, an excellent communicator with very strong writing and editing skills, creative flair and attention to detail. You will have good interpersonal skills, be able to demonstrate your interest in science and/or engineering and your ability to work under pressure and respond responsibly and rapidly to media enquiries.

Full-time permanent position. Salary: ??27,500 p.a.
