Breast Cancer Care is here for anyone affected by breast cancer. We bring people together, provide information and support, and campaign for improved standards of care. We use our understanding of people’s experience of breast cancer and our clinical expertise in everything we do.

This post is a 10 month maternity cover, starting ideally in September 2011 and is responsible for overseeing a busy and varied fundraising portfolio which includes all Breast Cancer Care???s events, corporate partnerships and community fundraising.  The role will involve line managing a team of 4 Press Officers, and be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of press plans to drive registrations to our events, raising much needed money and increasing awareness of Breast Cancer Care and our services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive team member who is comfortable operating in a busy work environment.  The post holder will need to show they can spot and maximise an opportunity, often within tight deadlines and restricted budgets.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in running a busy press office and managing a highly proactive team and gaining the best from individuals. With a proven ability to prioritise work and handle conflicting demands and tight deadlines, you will successfully be able to negotiate and influence people at all levels as well as handling sensitive and confidential information.  Previous direct charity experience is not fundament, but a substantial media relations back ground gained by working within the voluntary sector is highly essential, therefore this is an ideal opportunity for anybody wishing to gain experience of the charity sector.
