Policy officer intern
The post is full-time for a fixed term of 6 months
Interested in science policy? Want experience of working strategically to influence policy development? Want to help us make an impact on the future of health research?
The Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) – the membership organisation for charities funding health research in the UK – are looking for someone to come and work with us over the next six months – a period that is shaping up as an exciting and busy time for health research.
You will have the opportunity to support AMRC???s policy and public affairs activity during an exciting and busy time for medical research, as parliamentarians debate the health and social care bill, the government focuses on work to support growth in life sciences and healthcare, and changes are underway to the regulation of health research in the UK.
We are working to ensure the investments charities make in health research brings the greatest benefit to the people they represent.
This is a great chance to be involved in shaping the future of health research and learn a lot about how to work strategically to get your voice heard.
By the end of six months you will have met a cross-section of policy and public affairs professionals from across health research and science; will have had the opportunity to engage with the policy-making process, designing and supporting public affairs activity; and gained a good understanding of the major challenges for health research.
To apply please send a CV and covering letter including details of when you are available to start to Becky Purvis on firstname.lastname@example.org by 9am Monday 5 September 2011.
Interviews will be held on 8 September 2011
