Diabetes is one of the biggest health challenges facing the UK today. Our success in supporting people is underpinned by our clear and consistent values relating to high performance, integrity, empowering, valuing others and working together.Working to lead the Research Team, under the direction of the Director of Research, and externally with leading healthcare professionals and researchers, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of Diabetes UK???s Research Strategy. Excellent technical skills in research management and research grant giving are required for this role as well as a confident presence to enable you to build effective relationships across the organisation and with external partners, senior researchers, healthcare professionals and people living with diabetes. The post-holder will be a research content expert for Diabetes UK and will be responsible for working with members of the Communications and Fundraising Directorates to manage the communication of diabetes related research externally and internally as well as further developing user involvement and impact measurement into Diabetes UK???s research activities. As a Head of Team the post holder will also make a significant contribution to the wider Diabetes UK strategy. This is a busy, varied and interesting role. The suitable candidate will be highly organised and have previous experience of research management, research communication and hold a higher degree in a life-science area. They will possess a passion for working with people, be a true team player and have experience of collaborating effectively with people from a range of disciplines.
