Today???s medical students are a vital source of tomorrow???s leaders in medical research. With generous support from the Wellcome Trust, the Academy of Medical Sciences is expanding its activities to inspire these students with the possibilities of a research career.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Programme Officer. You will be responsible for the further development, implementation and administration of a range of activities to inform and enthuse medical students about the opportunities of a research career. As a member of the Academy???s dynamic team, the role will also include providing administrative assistance to a portfolio of other activities to support doctors already involved in research.

You will be educated to first degree level and have some experience of organising schemes/events and developing external contacts. Excellent communication skills are a key attribute. General knowledge of medical research and the UK healthcare sector is desirable, but not essential. The post is initially offered on a fixed term, one year contract.
