Business and Innovation Policy Officer

Salary: c??26,000 per annum (plus excellent benefits, dependent on the successful candidate’s skills and experience)

The Business and Innovation team is responsible for the Institute’s policy activities in the area of business and innovation, working to influence and inform government and other agencies, engaging with stakeholders, responding to consulations, producing reports, seminars and briefings.  The team are looking for a new Business and Innovation Policy Officer to support the development and promotion policy in the areas of innovation, business and industry.

The successful applicant will –

Policy Development

Research and maintain awareness of the relevant political landscape and appropriate national and regional organisations

Formulate Institute policy in innovation, business and industry working with members, other staff and external stakeholders and partners

Increase the external visibility of the Institute’s policy work within government and other external stakeholders

Write policy position papers and contribute policy content to other channels, such as websites

Consultations

Maintain alertness to, monitor and prioritise external policy consultations

Draft responses to external consultations in relevant policy areas

Events

Research, organise and promote policy-related events

Support the organisation and running of other business and innovation events

Stakeholder Engagements

Respond to policy-related queries from individual members working in business, academia and technology transfer organisations

Build relationships with business, innovation and technology-related organisations

Salary – c??26,000 per annum

Closing date – 21 November 2011
