Grade 6: ??25,854 – ??30,870 with discretionary range up to ??33,734 p.a. (pro rata)

 

We are seeking to recruit a part-time Communications Manager (18.75 hours per week) to support the dissemination of clinical trial research results as well as promoting the work of the DTU to both the academic community and the public. This will include the management of academic publications from manuscript through to final submission as well as the production of posters, slides, abstracts and conference materials. The Communications Manager will also be responsible for managing the DTU website, updating news and other content in a timely fashion. Further responsibilities will include liaison with the University and external press offices, the creation of a departmental annual report and more generally ensuring that the Unit is branded appropriately. The appointment will be for two years in the first instance, subject to a three-month probationary period.

The postholder will be proficient in Microsoft Office and Endnote and ideally will have previous experience of clinical trial/medical publications or similar experience in an academic communications role. You should have experience in copy-editing, proof-reading, and writing for the web, both for lay and technical readerships. You will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritise multiple tasks, cope with tight deadlines and work effectively with all members of the DTU and external contacts.
