We are looking for a dynamic Head of Communications to lead our small but influential communications team and to play a role on the senior management team.

You must have an understanding of the media and the creativity to keep us in the headlines. Your first and foremost responsibility will be to create and release innovative and timely press releases to gain mass attention; focusing on translating our science information into local, national, and international ???news???. You will secure interviews on radio and television and champion our scientific findings against industry interference. In addition, you will be involved at various levels in the areas of web, multimedia, social media, corporate fundraising, international press, marketing, UK and international policy etc.

Approximately 75 per cent spent of the role will be spent on WCRF UK communications activities and about 25 per cent supporting/guiding WCRF International communications activities on behalf of or in conjunction with the global network members – PR, social media, web, policy – as applicable and as required.

The successful candidate will have significant experience working at a senior level in a public relations or media role combined with strategic thinking ability and gravitas needed to influence at the most senior level.
