Interesting comments on this article, may be of interest to jobseekers: "Failing up: why mediocre workers keep getting promoted"

There are so many quotable comments at the end of this article and there are plenty of insightful observations that I think might be useful to anyone who’s looking at their next job or promotion. Not bad for people looking for their first job either but the article is really about people who’ve demonstrated competence and how they move on to the next stage.

The commenters mention the Peter Principle (lots of commenters feel that it should have been explicitly included in the article itself), the Dunning-Kruger effect, they even have some positive things to say about mediocrity though not so much about HR, and make some Dilbert references.
