Diabetes UK is the country???s largest charity devoted to the care, treatment and improvement of the quality of life for people with diabetes. This role is an integral part of the Diabetes UK Team in Northern Ireland that cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of all people affected by and at risk of diabetes. We are looking for a suitable person to provide maternity cover and take on a key role in the continued delivery of a strong media, public profile and promotion of key campaigns to improve the quality of life for people living with diabetes.
You will be responsible for implementing a proactive media plan to raise and maintain a high profile for the charity and its work across the various media channels and in supporting the Northern Ireland team in discrete areas of work. The role will also involve giving advice and support on media work, producing press releases, feature articles for both internal and external publication, and web stories.
You will ideally have demonstrable experience in media and communications. You will also have a sound knowledge of the Northern Ireland media and social media, and ability to write high quality media releases.
In this role, you???ll be expected to have knowledge of healthcare issues, diabetes and experience of voluntary organisations would be desirable.
