As the Web News Editor for the Royal Statistical Society (RSS)??you will be joining the team working for one of the world's most distinguished and renowned statistical societies. This is a key appointment as part of our strategy to strengthen our external communications.
We are looking for a pro-active writer, with proven experience of writing for the web and a good instinct for picking up relevant news stories. You will use your skills to source and write news stories which both engage our members and appeal to a wider audience with an interest in statistics. You will have an interest in and sympathy for statistics, numeracy and data and how they interact with the wider world.
As well as providing and managing a regular supply of stories for our dedicated news website, you will have responsibility for compiling stories for our regular email bulletins. Together with our web manager, other staff members, a range of external stakeholders and volunteers who contribute to the Society's work you will ensure our eNews stories are timely, accessible and relevant.
The post is based at our offices in Errol Street, near the Barbican Centre in central London and is available on a part time basis (21 hours per week). There is flexibility about how the hours will be worked.?? The contract is for a 12 month period initially with potential for long term extension.
