The European Molecular Biology Laboratory, based in Heidelberg, Germany, is seeking an editorial intern to join the European journal for science teachers??Science in School. We are inviting applications from recent science graduates who would like to enrich their skills by gaining practical experience in science publishing.
The intern will gain an insight into all aspects of producing a journal. He or she will edit and write articles on a wide range of science topics, create web pages, and generally assist with the running of the journal.
About??Science in School
Science in School??is the European journal for science teachers. It covers not only biology, physics and chemistry, but also earth sciences, engineering and medicine, highlighting the best in teaching and cutting-edge research, and focusing on interdisciplinary work. The contents include teaching materials, recent discoveries in science, education projects, interviews with young scientists and inspiring teachers, and much more.
Science in School??is freely available. Online articles are published in many European languages and an English-language print version is distributed across Europe. Originally supported by the European Commission, the journal is published and funded by EIROforum, a partnership between eight of Europe???s largest intergovernmental research organisations (www.eiroforum.org).

|Qualifications and Experience|
The successful candidate will have a background in science; training or experience in journalism or communication; excellent writing skills and an interest in science education. He or she will be well organised, with an eye for detail and able to work both independently and in a team. Excellent spoken and written English is required. The successful candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Office products; knowledge of HTML (e.g. Dreamweaver) and graphics software (Photoshop??and??Illustrator) would be an asset.
