We have an exciting opportunity to join a well established charity as Head of Policy and Communications (Scotland), based in the National Office, Ratho, Edinburgh on an interim basis. We are looking for a driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to manage and lead the planning, development and implementation of the MS Society???s policy and communications priorities across Scotland. You will prepare and coordinate all the PR activities relevant to the operation of the MS Society in Scotland.
You will work as part of the senior management team and alongside colleagues to lead in the development of internal and external communications strategies. You will implement media and communications activity as well as develop and implement policy, public affairs and campaigns activity. You will have line management responsibilities, being a supportive and directive manager taking in the training and education needs of your team.
As the successful candidate in this role, you will need to have substantial experience and expertise in public relations and media handling as well as excellent communication and general management skills. You must have a comprehensive knowledge of Scottish Government policy planning and implementation. You will have the ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders in an effective, persuasive and compelling manner at the highest level.
