About the role
An exciting opportunity is now available for a Research Development Manager to monitor ongoing developments in the field of Parkinson's research.
You will assess the outcomes of our funded research and work with the director to develop??our research portfolio.
You will also work closely with members especially those with a specific interest in research through our research support network for example, to develop topics from their identified unmet needs for the potential development of themed research grants.
In addition you will act as a point of contact for other directorates to advise on scientific matters using your research expertise.
Skills, knowledge and experience
To be successful, you must have proven background in a specific research environment and an understanding of Parkinson's or other similar neurological conditions.
Detailed knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases and of the UK research funding process is essential as well as the ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and original research.
With excellent communication skills you will be able to communicate with a range of people as well as interact with a variety of stakeholders including lay members of the organisation and specialist audiences.
