Location:??Tower Hill, London
Closing Date:??27 Aug 2012
Salary:????29,266 per annum

You're someone who wants to make a difference. Who can keep on top of a rapidly changing subject. And most of all, who understands the importance of accessible and reliable information for people living with dementia and their carers.
So why join Alzheimer's Society? Because never have your skills been more valuable or more urgently needed. There are 800,000 people with dementia in the UK and – with that number set to grow to one million by 2025 – we are looking for a talented individual to help us ensure people affected by dementia get the information they need.
We provide information, advice, support and care to help people with dementia live their lives to the full. Within health and well-being our information covers Alzheimer???s disease and other causes of dementia; diagnosis, treatment and interventions; disease progression and end-of-life care; risk factors and prevention. Our core materials include practical information to help people with dementia live well with the condition.
You will join our team to ensure that all our health and well-being information is evidenced, well written and up-to-date. You will also answer enquiries and provide training and knowledge briefings for Society staff and volunteers.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of both those with dementia and their carers. Probably already in a similar role, you will need to be organised and have a passion for knowledge. You will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant life or social science subject, with experience in the writing and delivery of information. You will have a broad understanding of issues relevant to older or vulnerable people, and ideally already some knowledge of dementia.
