About the Job
CR-UK and NCAT are embarking on a joint programme of GP engagement work to ensure that commissioners, GPs and other key decision makers are equipped with high quality and up to date cancer information. We plan to engage with GPs both as healthcare providers and as commissioners in their local areas, initially focussing on early diagnosis and awareness.
We are now looking to recruit a number of Primary Care Engagement Facilitators to take forward this work.?? These posts are part of the new Cancer Research UK (CR-UK) and National Cancer Action Team (NCAT) Primary Care Engagement and Support team. They will work closely with local Cancer Networks, including GP Cancer Leads and teams, to build on work previously done with GPs and primary care on early diagnosis and support Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to engage with the primary care population.
The role will provide support, advice and training to Primary Care on cancer issues with a particular focus on early diagnosis, including best practice and referral guidelines.?? The post holders will facilitate the roll out and effective use of
GP practice profiles, encourage use of the primary care risk assessment tool and support the use of the RCGP audit and significant events audit.
To join us, you???ll need to have good communication, influencing and relationship building skills and be happy working both on your own and as part of a team. You???ll also need to be able to understand and interpret data and be able to present complex information in a clear and legible way.?? Great organisational and project management skills and experience of successfully implementing projects is also critical.
