Diabetes is one of the biggest health challenges facing the UK today. Diabetes UK is the leading charity that cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of all people affected by and at risk of diabetes.

We are looking for an experienced Public Affairs Officer to promote the work of Diabetes UK and the issues affecting people with diabetes in Parliament and ensure that diabetes remains high on the political agenda.

??

This is a busy and varied role, with opportunity for the successful candidate to expand their experience in public affairs, campaigning and stakeholder relationships.

??

A significant part of this role will be building and managing Diabetes UK???s parliamentary relationships, supporting parliamentary involvement in organisation wide campaigning and other activity as well as proactively and reactively seeking out opportunities to highlight diabetes in parliament.

??

As part of this engagement programme, you will be responsible for managing Diabetes UK???s presence at the party conferences and the work of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Diabetes.

??

You will be required to monitor and report on parliamentary activity to internal and external audiences.

??

The successful candidate will have at least 2-3 years experience in a public affairs role, Experience of supporting and attending events at party conferences and working with an All Party Group are required. Experience of working in parliament is an advantage

You will be organised with an attention to detail and the ability to work under your own initiative, ensuring accuracy and delivering to tight deadlines.

??

Excellent communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to work with and influence both internal and external audiences are essential.

??
