Developing evidence-based mental health guidelines for the National Institute for Health and Clinical Effectiveness (NICE), the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health (NCCMH) is a partnership between the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the British Psychological Society???s Centre for Outcomes, Research and Effectiveness (CORE) at University College London.
Applications are invited for a Health Economist to join our team, primarily based at the Royal College of Psychiatrists but also working closely with colleagues at University College London.
3-Year Fixed Term Contract*
??34,094 to ??42,305 depending upon experience
The successful candidate will have a major responsibility for advising on health economics on NICE mental health guidelines. This will involve working closely with two other health economists, directors and staff at the NCCMH, expert members of guideline development groups including consultants, researchers, clinicians, service users and carers. Working on two guidelines at once, you will review and synthesize current economic evidence and carry out modelling to inform decisions in each guideline. These projects work to demanding time-scales, with many components and many contributors. As well as knowledge and experience of a range of health economic methods including modelling, the ability to present information clearly and draft high quality reports to tight deadlines will be advantageous.
*We would be willing to consider the possibility of a part-time appointment at a pro-rata salary, provided this interest is made explicitly clear in the candidate's application letter.
