Science Communication Officer


A full-time post to develop and enhance the public understanding of evolution, focussing on areas of future promise. Outreach will include development of a website, recruiting leading experts to speak to topical issues, organizing events (including a major international conference) and educational outreach, and liaising with other members of the team and external consultants (including web-designers and translators).

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate a high level of verbal and written communication skills and the ability both to make complex ideas understandable in plain English and to develop an overall strategy for the public dimensions of the programme. They will be expected to work effectively as part of a team (working particularly closely with the Science Writer and PI), and to hold a degree in a relevant area of science. Prior experience of science communication in any medium, public outreach and of developing website content will be advantageous.

This post is one of four connected with a project in evolutionary biology funded by the Templeton World Charity Foundation (TWCF).
