We are looking for an experienced Head of Policy to
help Diabetes UK???s influence within the wider health agenda. The role will be responsible for leading the development of well-researched, evidence-based policy, through high quality intelligence gathering and ensure that our influencing work meets the needs of people living with, and at risk of, diabetes. This is a busy and varied role, working with staff and stakeholders, to create the conditions in the external environment to improve care.
A significant part of this role will be leading the policy content of advice, guidance and messages, monitoring diabetes care and co-ordination of national and local influencing and improvement work programmes. It will involve working with key leaders and a wide range of teams across the organisation. It is a key role, established to share knowledge, co-ordinate and monitor the influencing activities being delivered to raise support to other teams to raise the profile of diabetes. You will be responsible for establishing transparent processes to formulate relevant policies and ensure we make change happen.
The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge and significant experience of working within the NHS in a leadership capacity. In addition to experience of policy development and analysis, developing campaign programmes.
You will have an aptitude for translating complex issues, ability to work to tight deadlines and under your own initiative. Highly developed interpersonal skills, together with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels from advising senior audiences, including politicians, civil servants are essential.
