Diabetes is the fastest growing health threat in the UK. Diabetes UK is the leading UK charity that cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of people affected by, and at risk of, diabetes.

Our Media Team is recognised as being one of the best in the charity sector. It won last year’s Charity Times award for PR Team of the Year and regularly secures national coverage for the issues affecting people with diabetes.

We are looking for a Press and Communications Officer to manage the media for a Charity of the Year partnership that has the potential to have a huge positive impact for people with diabetes in the UK.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to prove you have what it takes to deliver national media coverage and coordinate regional media activity for one of the biggest and highest-profile partnerships in the sector.

You will have an excellent understanding of the media and be able to identify news stories and write good quality press releases. You will also need to have a proactive and organised approach to work and be able to build working relationships with journalists and other stakeholders in the partnership.

In return, we provide Group Personal Pension scheme, Childcare Voucher scheme,
flexi-time working, Life Assurance/Death in Service Benefits, enhanced Annual Leave entitlement and more.

Please ensure you address the essential criteria in your application’s supporting statement and send your form in good time to reach us by the closing date.
Diabetes UK recognises and respects the value and diversity of all.

No agencies please. As an organisation we are committed to keeping costs down, which is what our beneficiaries, supporters and staff expect of us. We have decided to manage this recruitment process without the assistance of recruitment agencies and simply ask that this decision is respected.
