Bupa are looking to recruit a full time health editor, based at their offices in London. Health editors are responsible for the editorial development of Bupa’s consumer health information and ensuring that content is relevant, readable and reliable, while communicating Bupa brand values. The health information team mainly produces and maintains content for digital channels, but also provides content to businesses for customer publications. As a corporate centre function, the health information team also develops content standards and support tools for businesses and monitors compliance with standards.
This role would suit a person who is early on in his or her editorial career with writing experience.
Typical activities will include:
- commissioning work from freelance writers or designers
- editing drafts or writing high quality new content by critically appraising medical sources and using meticulous referencing of information before circulating to reviewers
- writing high quality features and blog posts for digital channels or other internal and external print publications
- recruiting and liaising with expert reviewers to ensure accuracy of content
Bupa are looking for someone with a life sciences degree qualification or equivalent, a broad general knowledge of human biology and medical science, experience and knowledge of writing and editing high quality material for publication, ideally on healthcare/medical topics and familiarity with standard editorial processes including researching, writing, editing and proof reading.
