|Summary||The Florence Nightingale School of Nursing & Midwifery at King’s College London develops leading-edge nurses and midwives of tomorrow – practitioners, partners, and leaders in their field. The School is ranked as the number one school for nursing in London (Complete University Guide 2013) and is headed by Professor Helen McCutcheon; it has 200 staff spread across six departments and nearly 3,000 students, and a turnover of £20m.
The post-holder will be responsible for leading on all communications and public relations activities for the School in order to raise our profile and help to meet student recruitment and other strategic aims. That includes internal and external communications, web and digital media, press relations and publications. The post-holder will work closely with colleagues in marketing and public relations, as well as academic and professional services staff at all levels within the School.
|Details||The successful candidate will have a proven knowledge of communications or public relations, ideally in the Higher Education or healthcare sector. In addition to excellent spoken and written English, he/she must have strong experience in working with the media, producing engaging copy to tight deadlines and managing several projects simultaneously. Proof reading and editing skills, and a good eye for detail are also essential.
The post will suit a self-motivated, enthusiastic, team-player who is educated to degree level (or equivalent), with relevant communications experience. The successful candidate must be willing to work out of hours and occasionally represent the School to internal and external audiences.

|Salary||The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications, within the Grade 5 scale, currently £26,264 to £30,424, per annum plus £2,323 per annum London Allowance.|
