This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented media relations professional to join one of the world’s leading funders of research, helping promote our work in public engagement, education and the medical humanities.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a press office in the education, cultural or science communication sectors or as a trained journalist. You will have a good eye for a story and a creative approach to media relations.
Reporting to the Media Relations Manager, you will be responsible for researching, identifying and helping promote Wellcome Trust awards and initiatives with media potential, including preparing press releases and briefings for journalists and spokespeople. You will have the ability to turn education initiatives, unusual public engagement and arts awards, and research in the medical humanities into engaging story ideas that capture the attention of the national media and help raise the profile of the Wellcome Trust.
We offer a salary of c£30,000 per annum plus excellent benefits
