In this fulfilling role, you will provide the leadership and vision required to influence the development of the schools programme and externally funded projects for teachers, children and young people in formal education up to the age of 18. You will contribute to the professional training for teachers and technicians and represent Kew in the wider schools education community, maintaining and developing Kew’s growing reputation as a first class provider of out of school learning and professional development. Reporting to the Head of Participation, you will also lead a highly successful programme of activity with a strong track record in attracting external funding/income and support.
Qualified to degree level in biological science or a related discipline, you will have an excellent understanding of the development and implementation of professional training for teachers. A dedicated, creative and inspirational leader, you will have highly developed interpersonal, negotiating, research and project management skills, and a ‘can do’ approach to your work.Your track record of high quality educational content creation is essential, as are your excellent writing and editing skills across a range of media. You will be a natural at staff management and teaching/training/mentoring and will use your deep understanding of current policy, trends and audiences in the education space to be successful in this role.
