£30,000-32,000 per annum plus benefits, two year contract
The Royal Society is the independent scientific academy of the UK dedicated to promoting excellence in science. An opportunity has arisen for an Anniversary Program Manager to join the Publishing section.
The Royal Society has published peer-reviewed scientific journals since 1665. In 2015 we will mark the 350th anniversary of the launch of Philosophical Transactions, the world’s first journal dedicated to science, with a programme of events and activities under the theme ‘Publishing science: from foundation to future’. Work is underway to design the programme to demonstrate publishing at the Royal Society continues to be pioneering to audiences both in the UK and around the world.
The post holder will manage the successful delivery of the programme, working across the organisation. They will have a proven track record of delivering complex projects and high impact activities across a variety of channels including digital media. The qualities needed include strong leadership abilities, the ability to command the confidence of the Royal Society staff at all levels and the experience to successfully deliver projects. The post holder will be a highly motivated individual with the ability to lead and motivate others and should be educated to a degree level.
