This role is in a medical research charity which obviously has science and health communication as part of its background activities although I didn’t get the impression from the job description that scicomm is a particular focus of this job.
Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Press & PR Officer will take a lead role in promoting the work of the charity to raise awareness and understanding of the condition, as well as supporting the need to raise funds.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of working in a communications role and must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. They will also have experience of developing media strategies, preparing press releases, working with social media platforms, and strong media relations skills.
If you are self-motivated, dedicated to detail and have a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude, we would love to hear from you.
Completed applications should be emailed to Jackie Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org by 9.00am on Monday 13 January 2014.
