An exciting opportunity for a Press and Communications Officer has arisen at World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK).

Background

WCRF UK is the UK’s leading cancer prevention charity focusing on the link between cancer and risk factors such as diet, physical activity and body weight.

The Press and Communications Officer is a new role and reflects an increased focus on engaging and communicating with our audiences as part of a new three year strategy that puts communications at the heart of the organisation.

Reporting to the Press and PR Programme Manager, you will deliver and log WCRF UK’s media coverage, develop case studies, write content for the website, coordinate social media and provide administrative support for the Communications Division.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working in a journalism, PR or communications role, ideally in the not-for-profit or health sector and educated to graduate level or equivalent.

Excellent writing and editing skills are vital, as is the ability to interpret complex information and communicate it to a lay audience. Experience of using social media and blogging is also important.

To apply:

If you are interested in this role and feel you possess the necessary skills, knowledge and competencies, please submit a current CV and covering letter (maximum 2 pages) to hr@wcrf.org or HR, WCRF International 22 Bedford Square, London WC1B 3HH by the closing date.

Please note: Your cover letter should highlight how your skills and experience will benefit WCRF UK and equip you for the role.

Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are only able to provide feedback to shortlisted candidates. If you do not hear from us within 14 days of the closing date, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
