Salary: £21k + benefits

Location: Chesterfield
Hours: 35 per week, Monday to Friday
Closing date: 1pm Thursday, 14 January 2016

We are looking for a highly skilled information & enquiries officer to join our supporter care team where you will be responsible for:

  • Providing a professional, well-informed and efficient first point of contact for all general enquiries to Arthritis Research UK via phone, email and post
  • Ensuring that anyone who contacts the Charity and is seeking information about arthritis and/or sources of support related to living with arthritis receives a high-quality professional response and is promptly directed to the appropriate sources of information and support as required
  • Providing meaningful management information and analysis about both the volume and type of enquiries received to inform effective decision making. Overseeing an existing Information & Enquiries project and effectively capturing insights gained from this service so that they can be shared across the organisation and used to inform on-going development of the charity’s information provision
  • Taking ownership of enquiries, ensuring our key messages are communicated in an inspiring and motivational way, sensitively cross-selling engagement opportunities from across the organisation  


  • Will have recent experience of dealing with the general public, providing information over the phone and in written format
  • Should have a natural ability to demonstrate empathy and confidentiality with people in distress
  • Must possess an excellent customer service ethos including general call-handling
  • Will have excellent computer literacy skills and be fully conversant with Excel and databases
